Registration for the DIAMANT Symposium 5 april 2018

You can choose between a full arrangement and a customised arrangement. There is full support for Diamant members (for the symposium, NOT for the NMC!). The price of a full arrangement for non-Diamant members is 100 Euro. Deadline for registration is 18 March; after this date no further registrations will be processed. Cancelling your registration after submitting the form below costs 50 euro administration cost if you do it before 18 March. After that day, we will have to charge the full due amount.

Please note: registration for the Diamant symposium does not imply registration for the NMC, and also registration for the NMC does not imply registration for the Diamant symposium. If you wish to attend both the NMC and the Diamant symposium, then you should register for both, and payment is handled separately. The registration form for the NMC can be found here.

Full arrangement

This includes accommodation (night from 4 to 5 april), meals (1 dinner (on 4 april at 7 PM), 1 lunch (on 5 april), 1 breakfast), coffee breaks, and the symposium fee.

Customised arrangement

If you do not want a full arrangement, then please indicate on the form below exactly which mornings/afternoons you will attend, and which meals and accommodation you need.

Payment (non-Diamant members)

You will receive instructions on payment via the confirmation email that will be sent to you after filling out the registration form.

Dion Gijswijt and Jordan Ellenberg independently substantially improve capset bound

A capset in a finite dimensional vector space over the field with 3 elements is a subset that contains no 3-term arithmetic progressions. Dion Gijswijt (TU Delft) and Jordan Ellenberg have independently obtained a bound on the size of a capset that for the first time improves substantially on the trivial bound 3^n. Read more in Terence Tao's blog about these developments.
