Application of number theory to lattice space-time codes

In recent years, many applications of number theory and algebraic geometry to
coding theory have been found. In this talk, I will present a connection
between algebraic number theory and space-time codes.
It turns out that good space-time codes rely on the existence of algebraic 
number fields with discriminants of small absolute value.
