James Lewis (University of Alberta): Abel-Jacobi maps associated to algebraic cycles I
Abstract:
I will begin by presenting a comprehensive overview of the classical Griffiths Abel-Jacobi map in terms of a membrane integral, as well as in terms of extension classes, leading up to an explicit membrane integral formula for the Abel-Jacobi map for Bloch's higher Chow groups in the smooth projective case. This is based on recent joint work with Matt Kerr and Stefan Mueller-Stach.
