Spring semester 2004:

Topic: Galois representation associated to modular forms.

The spring seminar was held together with the algebra group from Groningen.

The intention was to work towards two goals:

• Understand p-adic Galois representations associated to (usual) modular forms and the corresponding automorphic representations, and, in particular, the behaviour at p. As the latter point involves Fontaine's theory, we try to present some ideas on that, too.
• Understand the construction of the Galois representations associated to Hilbert modular forms.
